Historicamente el género femenino ha sido siempre menos valorado en el mundo del rock. Existen contadas excepciones como Kim Deal, Patti Smith, Kim Gordon o P.J. Harvey, pero lo cierto es que el rock alternativo está bastante más inundado de mentes masculinas.
Bueno, pues para los que buscabais la quintaesencia del rock alternativo hecho por mujeres, aqui teneis a Shannon y su disco Over The Sun. Una vuelta de tuerca con respecto a sus anteriores discos, todos más calmados y cercanos al folk que al rock.
No tengo muy claro que es lo que paso por la cabeza de esta mujer para sacar la guitarra electrica y editar esta colección de canciones tan increiblemente acertada, pero la verdad es que hacía tiempo que no oía música tan cruda, directa y llena de fuerza.
Un disco absolutamente enganchante y lleno de momentazos en el que apenas hay una batería y una guitarra de vez en cuando acompañados de un piano que te sumerjen en el mundo interior de Shannon en su momento más melancólico y lleno de mala hostia.
